yes it is time!

Anonym hat gesagt…
time for a new blog entry or not? I love poker but i always get broken at this fucking game... what i am doing wrong - i think not enough disciplin or fucking bad money management... cmon write something about a day of a professional poker play or something like that... and mainz will win the 8th game against hsv... oooleeelelee

That is a good point Mr Anonymius. Long ago, indeed.
I made a bet with myself when reading your comment: If Mainz makes the record with 8 wins in row I start to post daily again ... well, you know the result. Bad luck. I wont post. Okay not often at least.

Money management is important, somehow. You need to either learn it or do the Hellblood approach: Having enough dollars so one just cant loose all. More easy, more easy!

There isnt much intersting to post about my life though. I very rarely play poker, betting is the main job. Great world cup, average league start. This is just suuuuch a pleasure to read I bet. Oh well, I stop it. I need some beer. Thats life baby!

Summer time

Poker sucks! Some days ago I lost a couple of buyins vs IamUrSlayer – yes just the guy I flamed in my last post – and took a frustrated break. So topic closed, more poker in some days, weeks, ages!? No I guess days cause I am addicted and never can stop it for a long time.

Btw it is quite funny. I loose 20k at poker but the same day make a 50k profit in betting. That’s 30k for the day, for sure a sum I appreciate. That’s way above my average daily profit. But still I am not really happy about the day. Depending on if I played good or bad poker I am either feeling normal or even a bit depressed. Having a 30k profit day and feeling bad is sick, isn’t it? It is even more sick if you consider I would feel great if I had won 10k in poker and 10k at betting - what is less in total.
I am a bad looser.

But now lets talk about the summer! I just love it to be warm again. Going out in t-shirt and soon driving cabriolet. Yeah baby, that’s the life I love!
The next weeks I will work hard in sports, so I don’t look as much as now like the old ugly fat bastard slobbering the young chicks.
Soon I will loose my dollars outside in the garden and not in my stinky room. Yeah, I feel the energy!

Time for some music: This is my absolute favourite song for cabriolet times.

Big poker action

Yesterday I played for some hours a three-way round of Omaha. IamUrSlayer badly wanted me to blog about it, so here we go:

The blinds were 25-50usd Omaha with IamUrSlayer, omas and me participating. I started well and was up about a stack for the first hour. Then the big misery started. On a 266 flop I hold 26xx and had no other choice than putting in all money on the flop. My opp holding 6xxx hit one of his overcards. Bad luck I guess. It sadly wasn’t the only bad luck. For the next two hours I basically lost every pot. The biggest one was a 25k one were everybody of us moved in on a 3JK two diamonds flop. Top two vs nuts flush draw vs my TQA Q high flush draw. The board paired and the third diamond came in.
I was down like 25k and ready to leave if my last gamble wouldn’t come in, a 15k pot vs IamUrSlayer. Well it wasn’t that much of a gamble in fact. Flop 568, two spades and I was holding the 4678. Turn 7, river 9 and the third spade appeared. This sucked, I felt quite sure the time to open the window and risk a highly motivated jump had come. But noooo, I won it! My small straight made it. I go no idea what IamUrSlayer had but I guess something like a set. Bad luck, sir.

So, omas poker god? He left with a 33k stack, so I guess somehow yes.
IamUrSlayer poker god? No way. He played like a drunk old bitch and cried all the time about “FML”. What does this mean btw? Fuck my life? For married love?
Hellfish poker god? I lost more than IamUrSlayer so I fear all these insults I am writing about him do even fit better about me. But this is my blog so I can flame whoever I want and don’t need to be objective! HAH!

Apple

I admit it, I am an Apple fan. Their products are way overpriced, technical quite bad but sooooo cool.
When they started selling the I-Phone I thought quite long about but a month after the launch I finally went out buying one. I loved it, I really loved it. So easy to use, such cool layout. It exactly was what I was looking for.
Then some months ago my home computer crashed on a Friday. I urgently needed a new one for the weekend betting but my computer expert was on holidays. So I drove to some electronic market to buy a laptop. I again planned to go Apple, better to say the ultra small air book. But the prices shocked me. Nearly double as expensive as some “normal” laptop like Vaio. This is just too sick, so I buyed the Vaio which works fine.

In some weeks the next one is starting. IPAD. To be honest to myself, it is complete shit lol. I love reading books but doing so on a computer screen. No way, sorry. I want some real paper in my hands, some real paper I can dirty with my coffee. If you exclude reading books and papers, what else do you need the Ipad for? It is nothing else than an ipod / Iphone in bigger size. It has only one quality: It is COOOOOL.
And that’s enough for me. I will buy it and count down the days until one can do so. In the end it probably will end as a digital picture frame but as I don’t have any yet. Heck why not.

Is always moving higher the right way?

Some days ago I read an interesting thesis in a newspaper: Every company, our whole culture is always looking for increasing profits, to grow. But is this really needed?

A pro making his living out of poker or/and betting are in fact nothing else than a small company. He also always tries to earn more, to stake higher, to jump up in limits.
This surely is a must to some extend. Poker and betting is no regular job. You don’t have any old-age provisions, neither there is any guarantee you will still beat the markets in some years. You can only seriously start as a betting pro if there is the realistic chance to earn some millions for the next say decade.

But what if you reached this point? You have a million in the bank and you beat the poker games / make a great yield in betting. The way nearly everyone goes is to play higher limits, to stake bigger. One million is nothing, you want three. And when you have them you want eight. If this goes without disadvantages there is nothing wrong about it, of course. But every jump in limits means a new additional risk. You beat 50-100 limits but the step to 100-200 on Fulltilt might just be too big for you and you just loose the money. Yes if you are serious you jump down again and still have a completely sufficient bankroll. But it still hurt your ego and you kind of wasted a lot of time and even more money. What can you gain on the other hand? You might win at 100-200 but then automatically you go to the next level, 250-500. It is an endless circle until you are either one of the very few absolute world class poker pros like Tom Dwan or lost a lot of energy for basically nothing. Chances aren’t big you are the next Durrrrr or Antonius. And even if it happens, is the life of Dwan so much better than the life of a “normal” guy who already earned enough money to never have to work again in his life? I doubt it.
And if the life of these guys isn’t seriously better, why not just staying in the “low” limits where everything is working fine and enjoying your life.

Thick bloody lip

I am sometimes screaming, blaring and cursing so I guess some of you think I deserve some punishment. Well your dreams became true, it happened – in a quite ridiculous way though:
I am walking in my flat, drinking a nearly empty bottle of water. I have it high in the air to reach the last water when I pass a door. You can imagine what happened then: The bottle is too high in the air and strikes back into my face. Baang, blood, it hit me.
If I could only declare it would have been a big fight but no … the truth is quite disappointing.
Just like you will be disappointed about such a boring post!

EPT Berlin attack

A friend just called me screaming there would have been an attack on EPT Berlin poker tournament.
Crazy stuff. It luckily seems that noone got seriously injured.

All the best to you guys there!

sports bet

Köln - Bayern AWAY -1,0 @ 1,95 (money back when Bayern wins with a 1-goal margin)

Köln poor at home and normally should have no chance vs in-form Bayern. Even if they face an imp CL game in some days.

But attention: At Bayern centreback van Buyten is a very small doubt. If he really was out it would be a real problem for Bayern considering they also miss CN Demechelis. If you wanna go save, better wait for line-ups and check if he is playing.

No action

I played nearly no poker the last days, neither I was betting. Is it the cold weather? No, probably not. There were no interesting games going on and I wasn’t motivated at all to push something. The only half interesting one developed in a 15 minutes rushpoker session:

I raised with JJ and got called. Flop TJQ two spades I bet out and get called. Turn the spades 9. I check, opp checks. Turn another 9. I check again, he bets pot and I move in.
Now this opponent starts screaming down the chat:
- you dump fish, fucking idiot.
- How bad are you, such a donk!
- How can someone stupid like you still have money .. blablablabla.

When his timebank was nearly gone he folded.
Reflecting it I am not sure anymore, if he really meant me or maybe moaned about himself!?
I surely sucked out versus his flush or flopped straight but LOL. The money only went in when my hand was great, didn’t it? LOL

Something serious for your money

Okay, so I called this blog “blablabla … and everything sweet you can buy for money”. Why do I only post boring poker shit and sports bets that WIN. We need something where you can SPEND your dollars!

Hands up, the audience is listening. Here we go:

a 3D action figure of yourself!

This piece of shit is in fact something damn cool. You upload one, better two, photos of yourself and then the company uses them for a 3D model of yourself. This model can be adjusted by you. Different hair, more muscles, having a machine gun in your hand, everything is possible. You cannot only see it on their website in 3D but also order it as a real action figure!
This is so freaking. I have an action figure of myself on my desk where I don’t look like shit old too drunk Hell but like a young sporty man the girls love. My one minute of dreaming. Back to hard reality, bye bye.

P.S. The clown on this pic is NOT me. Don’t start asking. I wont post anything about my real look. It is too ugly.

Sense of life

I had a quick chat with a mate yesterday.
He: I am so bored with my life, I need to change something. I will stop drinking.
Me: I know the feeling, I am also so bored at the moment. That’s why I just started drinking again.

Why do you play if you dont enjoy it?

Some days ago I was waiting at a table after a long six-hour session just had ended. Giorgio came down and asked me why I wouldn’t join another table where a game was going on. I replied that table wouldn’t be top value and therefore I would be glad not to have to play. He replied with an in fact very logical question:

“Why don’t you just go out if you don’t enjoy playing now?”

It is the perpetual inner conflict of a gambling pro. Do you enjoy your life or do you go for maximum profits by working as much as possible?
Someone outside the gambling world will probably only see the moment: “This guy just won 3000 Euro. That’s as much as I earn in a month!! Why the heck doesn’t he just enjoy his life, soooo much money!”
I don’t want to start arguing being a gambling pro would be a hard life. That would be a lie. In a way it is living the dream. But one still has to care about the future (“ohhhh how uncool” I hear all the teens shouting now). Earning a lot of money now gives no clue at all about the future. In two years it all might be over. Many poker players and betting pros who won a lot six years ago cant compete at all today. They just don’t have the skills to beats todays much improved market anymore. The same will happen with many of the current pros. The poker games become so much tougher every year. More and more new pros join the cake and old-time fishes even improve to solid players themselves. I also always fear that sooner or later the lower limit ring games will be completely flooded by bots. In theory it is not hard to code a solid playing poker bot.

So guys, where will you be in two years? Having half a million in the bank sounds awesome but if you on the other hand cant win in poker/betting anymore and have no education – that’s no the dream life, I bet. After some years the money is spent and you basically sit on the streets with nothing.

Okay this is probably getting a bit too pessimistic but I like to outline that someone who goes gambling fulltime really needs to have a plan for the after-gambling life. Only a very tiny percentage of the pros really earned that much money that they are prepared for their living.
This is btw also the answer to the question Giorgio asked. Yes I sometimes don’t enjoy poker but it is my job. If there is a chance for a profitable game I have to take it. Just like I didn’t miss one single weekend with German soccer running since eight years or something. Holidays can wait for the time of soccer being in summer or winter break!

recommended sports book

Those who want to follow my bets but dont have a bookmaker offering my odds, or in general dont have any bookmaker with asian odds, should try the following book.
Pinnacle Sports is one of the most reliable books and their odds are great. Kind of exactly the same like IBC in asia offers (IBC is a big asian sports book).

sports bet

Atletico Madrid - Valencia OVER 2,75 goals @ 1,98

(we win half stake when 3 goals are scored and full stake with 4 goals).
Those who only bet at european books without asian odds can take over 2,5 goals @ 1,72+ instead.

The setup of this game is absolutely overish in my eyes. Both have their big strenght in offensive. Results like 3-3, 2-4 etc wouldnt surprise me. Atl key striker Aguero was a doubt but made it into the squad. Hopefully he will start from the beginning.

Is the fish dump?

Yesterday and today there was huge action at the no-limit TGF tables. I didn’t play exactly successful and lost about 20k. But that is no the topic of this post.
The games build more or less around one so called fish who plays an unusual style. He calls a reraise with 46 offsuite, hits two pair on the river and beats pocket aces. The other players usually are calm in chat but some railbirds start shouting how dump he would be etc.
I am sure the “fish” doesn’t care about this but it still is a quite funny one in fact. All the other players at the table adjust their day according to him. They chancel meetings or sports to play with him. When the “fish” sits out the other pros wait with big eyes for him to come back. This is a guy who can afford to loose many thousand, ten thousands Euro a day. Who obviously is so rich that money doesn’t matter for him anymore.

This “fish” reached something in life, didn’t he?
While the other pros (including me!) go to bed with a satisfied smile when beating him for 10k, he probably earns twice this amount while taking a nap.

Time for some culture

Something for the evenings loaded with beer.
This evergreen is named in English something like "only when I am drunk".

Some more Poker and betting (yes my topics are creative!)

I was waiting on a 10-20 Omaha table on Tuesday when some guy started laughing at me. Kind of “LOL big Hell, where is all your money. You are playing so low??”. I was like “wtf do you want from me, this is 10-20 OMAHA. This is very comparable to my old 25/50 nolimit games.” Then I realized I was sitting there with the minimum 400 buyin. Hmm strange, I still don’t understand how it came I buyed it for so low but I understand the guys point. (I have a sick bad memory, otherwise I wouldn’t call you guy but label you with a name).
Some minutes later I got the chance to prove I am real Hell and not just some old-school hero in his last drug contaminated days. There was a 50-100 Omaha game going on and I immediately jumped in. Not the best choice though: I was completely card dead and quickly lost 10k. But I proved I still play high limits!
Quickly after I played 25-50 Omaha hu but the result was similar. Well not completely similar. This time I received good cards – but still lost another 10k.
Enough is enough. Some hours out-time followed.

In the evening some nice holdem games were going on. I just don’t remember much except that I won most of my losses back! One key hand developed vs some player who might not be the most skilled super star in the poker world. He plays quite loose and is the reason some big waiting lists occur. Well whatever, I was happy when I flopped bottom set on a 28A three spades board. We both were 5k deep. I bet out the flop pot and he called. I bet out the turn 9 pot and he called. “Please river gods, don’t make him fill a one card flush on the river”. The river was another Ace. Not bad although I kind of feared the usual A9 now. The guy now bet out pot himself. Hmmm weird spot but no way I can fold vs THIS opponent. So I called with my fullhouse and he turned over … KQ of spades! Bloody Hell, I was really lucky there!

Yesterday I was watching and betting on the champleague game Inter vs Chelsea. It was quite amazing to see how Inter after their quick 1-0 wasn’t interested at all in doing anymore for offensive. They just defended, defended, defended. It looked like no one explained them this is a two-leg game. Winning first leg doesn’t guarantee next round!
If Inter coach Mourinho hadn’t already won uefacup and champleague with Porto I would say he just doesn’t know about two-leg but as he did … well maybe Portugese have just a better vision than Italians.
I strongly believe in 2nd leg Inter will like always loose and early end CL adventures. (This is NO bet, just a feeling).

A day with poker, beer and betting ( day in the life of Hellblood)

Yesterday developed into a quite typical day. I woke up with an ugly smell in my mouth and immediately went to the coffee machine for some wake-up power. Next step on my “every morning must do list” obviously was the computer. While it started the coffee was ready and I ran back into kitchen for the lovely taste of life. Then I ran back to the computer starting Outlook. Boring stuff, no interesting mails. Why the heck is no one commenting on my blog!? Bloody hell, bloody lazy readers! (Nooo I didn’t post this, did I !?).
After some surfing around and watching porn (now THIS is a joke!) I took a quick shower. When smelling good again I went out to buy some pretzel and more important, “kicker”. “Kicker” is a German paper writing about the German soccer games. At home it was working time for an hour: Reading Kicker, writing down notes, chances, results and all this from the weekend 1.BL games. The following hours were quite uneventful. Some boring poker games, blablabla in the chat and just easy going on the sofa with a good book.
In the evening I went out drinking with a friend and watching the first half of the 2.BL evening game. During halftime I went back home (yes this is very early – but I have job. Yes I have a job and cant spend my life drunk in the pubs. In fact I was drunk but still have to work!). At home I continued watching the 2.BL game and in addition turned on the Spanish Monday night game. I also looked at the odds, of course. Odds for the away side in 2.BL looked high. A friend agreed in 2nd half it would be an open game. Easy going, quick bet on St Pauli when being 0-1 down. Sadly this ended 0-3 and I lost my stake. Bad life.
Spanish game Valencia – Getafe had quite amazing stats close to halftime. Valencia was solid favourite and score was 0-0 – but the possession! 57% ball possession for Getafe. Strange stuff. Well before halftime Villa still scored the 1-0. I really liked the odds after it and bet on Valencia -0,25 and over 2,25. 2nd half started perfectly with another Villa strike. 2-0! Jesus this is fucking cool!!!
Later Valencia received a red card for nothing. REALLY for nothing. Odds obviously changed after this red but suddenly Valencia dnb @ 2,3!? Heck this looked sooo high for a strong counter attacking site like Valencia. Hell wouldn’t be Hell if I skipped such odd. Value is value and beer is beer. I am on it. Fulltime 2-1 and I am lost. Sick shit. Next topic to follow.

Oh in between I also played poker. Some 25-50 Omaha fun with some creative player (noooo he wasn’t a fish, he just played some unusual style) where I made some Ks profit. At least this. I guess I did better than Bjork. Bjork wanted to play good poker. What he fool he is. Twice he moved in preflop for a stack with Aces vs hands like AJT4. Of course he lost. Aces suck in Omaha. He knows it, I know it – and he still believes in odds. LOL.

Sports bet

Good morning, quick one for the betting freaks:

Werder Bremen - Bayer Leverkusen HOME WIN -0,25 @ 2,05 (we loose only have stake in case of a draw).

Bremen inbetween euroleague games and Leverkusen still unbeaten this season. Thats bad, yes. But looking at the squad these teams are quite similar. The big point in addition is Leverkusen misses KEYKEY centreback Hyypiä. This guy is a monster at the back.
I make Bremen the small favo on this line.

Rushpoker (a general view on poker environment)

Reading a nice comment about rushpoker at the ramblings of a mad man blog I would like to add my thoughts as well.
The fishes have an easier life in rushpoker compared to the normal games. No more fish hunting and way more important there are way less reads on fishes anymore. All this pokertracker stuff and detailed note taking is so horrible. What the sense if a fish plays with five other guys who have detailed stats about any tendencies and mistakes the fish does. In the end the fish will anyways loose his money but if one can give him more playing time for his money that’s great.
The poker sites, or better to say Full Tilt, obviously profits from this. A longer living fish pays more rake and more hands per hour in rushpoker are equal to more rake.

The only one losing by the rushpoker trend is the pro, or better to call him the semi pro. A real pro should like rushpoker. He needs to find different strategies and might have a lower expected value per hand – but the way increased rate of hands per hour must always more than compensate for this.
The bunch semi pros grinding for low hourly rates using some dump pokertracker stats system might not beat rushpoker anymore. They don’t have the class to adept to the new game. They aren’t able to find new tactics. That is a problem? Why, why, why?
The same happens every time again and again. Guys (like me lol) who belonged to the top online pros six years ago cant beat todays top games anymore because there are other new better pros. People who loved to play one fish in holdem might have found out he started to play Omaha only. Should one forbid Omaha now? Nooo of course not. But for the same reason there is nothing bad about rushpoker either.

I called this topic “a general view on poker environment”. Let me explain why.
I believe everything a poker site does to help the fishes is great stuff. The big majority of the poker pros don’t help the game at all!
This might sound extreme but lets face it: Without fishes whole poker would be dead. There would be nearly no games running anymore. So if you help the fishes to have more success and possibly make them stay longer this helps poker.
The real big pros like Doyle help poker a lot by bringing in publicity and all this. Some pros waiting at the tables for fishes aren’t wrong either I guess. After all the fish wants to play and if there is someone waiting to give him action he likes it and it increases chances he comes back.
But the tendency of having six pros hunting one fish looks way too imbalanced to me. Get out half of these pros and we have a better game for everyone. Rushpoker might help doing just this. At least one could get this impression when hearing so many “pros” moaning one couldn’t beat rushpoker, it would be pure gambling.

What do you guys think?

Various blablabla

Yesterdays Hertha bet won with a 1-1. Good as first sight, maybe good for the readers. I still lost money cause I bet live on Hamburg after the 1-0 to win higher than 1-0 and on over 2,5 goals. Well I didn’t came in. Lets see what the games tonight bring in. I took an early bet on Gladbach +0,5 @ 2,25 but that odd is long gone.

Yesterday poker was quite unspectacular. I didn’t play much and ended in a small minus. There happened one weird thing though:
I had about 9k euro in my account yesterday morning (yes lol I know 9k is little for 25-50. But I am just restarting!). I was quite sure to have lost only 2k so that’s 7k. VERY interesting, isn’t it? I bet you cant think about anything more interesting. Well the weird part comes now.
At night I closed my open tables, wanted to log out and suddenly see only 4k euro at my account balance. I had some beer in but still. That looked very strange. I checked hand histories but couldn’t find any bigger loss. I thought about it again. I closed down an Omaha table with 2k euro and a holdem one with 5k usd. Heck that alone is more than the 4k euro acc balance. I logged out and in again. Still 4k. WTF is this.

Well, now you are longing for the big “ahhhh”, the point I guess. Sadly there is none. I just went to bed and slept. The next morning I immediately checked it again and had a 7k euro account balance. Some bug in system I guess. Strange stuff at least.

Did you see the video on the right? This is my motivating song. HELLS BELLS !!

Sports bet

First the disclaimer: I wont pay back any money if the bet looses, I wont come down to solace you when it looses, neither I will feel with you if you jump out of the window after a loss. Well, maybe for a minute, but not longer!

Euroleague: Hertha Berlin vs Benfica HOME p0.5 @ 2,0 (this means we have a full win in case of a draw)

Hertha is table last in German 1.BL and faces a damn damn important relegation battle this weekend. It is kind of their last chance, playing away at Freiburg. There also are rumours Hertha would rest players tonight. I am mad to bet on them? Yes lol I am kind of, I know.
But the odd is just sick high. Even if Hertha rests two or three guys it should be value.
Anyways to be save you should check yourself for the line-up. In case of resting the whole first team (what I really cant imagine they do!) this bet wouldn’t be good. So, check out, be careful.

Btw this is a good moment to write something further about what you can expect about betting in this blog. I will occasionally post a bet like today. But this is something out of line and wont often happen. I also strongly propose you only take it as a guideline. Don’t blindy follow me! I wont keep detailed track about my results, neither I obviously can promise you a profit.

The TGF poker comeback

I just deposit and gave my comeback at TGF. I didn’t play there since a year or something. It was a very short comeback in fact.
The game was Omaha 10/20 vs fishfork. I thought he would remember me and be as thrilled as myself about the comeback but … no he ignored my euphoric greetings.
Golden idea: Is there still chat banning going on at TGF like at my old days? Yeahhh it is. I proposed him to sit out if chat banned what he immediately did. When I again expressed how happy I would be to meet him again he did another short sit-out. Well, that’s also some kind of chatting. Nice one sir.

The game itself was quite unspectacular. We played ten minutes small pot shit. Then he won a bigger one – and immediately left. Hmmm yes. Nice game. Nice to have met you again. Go to hell – but not to MY hell.

I just finished writing this and was about to publish when he came back! No hit-and-run, nothing wrong, my mistake. We played for another 30 minutes.
I was running really hot. Some small pots for me but more important all the big ones went good. The final hand of the match ended this way:

Back again, yeahhhhh. Back again.

Did you miss me? Here I am again: The infamous Hellblood!
I am becoming quite old and I was quite calm the last years, so I guess many wont know me anymore. Well, here we go with some quick introduction:

My name is Hellblood and my age is a secret, next point.

I am playing poker since, hmmm, eight years ago!? My god what a long time is this. I only played nolimit holdem the early days but nowadays I more and more prefer Omaha instead. It is such a nice gamble, I just love it. You can be sure to read some Omaha stuff soon.

What can you expect from this blog, or better for how long!? Some will remember my old blog where I was very active for half a year and then got silent and more silent each week. And finally it was gone to nirvana. Well, no empty promises, but I hope this new one will last way longer.
I wont only concentrate on poker topic cause this looked quite tough. When there are no interesting hands or one is on a loosing run there is just no motivation to post poker stuff. So my plan is to mix this blog a lot with betting and “money burning shit”.
What is “money burning shit” lol? I call life style this way. So everything interesting one can buy for money.

I am still testing out the blog environment. The design doesn’t look any good yet. When I have changed it I will go on with posting.
